about us

Zach

After a lifetime of loving ceramics and sculpture, Zach began working more seriously with clay in 2017, while pursing his PhD in Human Geography and Political Ecology at the University of Toronto. Since that time, his passion for clay has only deepened, leading him to transition careers and begin working full time as a pottery instructor, kiln technician and studio manager before taking the leap to co-create Feldspar Ceramics. His ceramic work brings sculptural and gestural elements to traditional forms and functional objects in porcelain and stoneware while exploring a range of ceramic materials and processes. Zach is passionate about teaching and building community and is excited to support our studio members and students and contribute to Toronto's growing ceramics community! You can find his work here.

Jasmine

Pottery has always been an important part of Jasmine's life and her self-discovery journey. Growing up in the Middle East, she was exposed to the rich pottery making tradition of the region early on and always felt gravitated towards pottery as a functional form of art. In 2017, as she was looking for a medium for creative expression, Jasmine took a ceramics course at Toronto's Harbourfront Centre. Since then, she has learned so much about pottery of and have enjoyed the process of creating functional pieces, from start to finish. This process inspired Jasmine to pursue her passion for ceramics and co-create Feldspar Ceramics as a studio space where members can feel welcomed and inspired to create.
